Open Space Report
Several of the items on the Open Space report are trail segments and not land acquisitions- the committee was appointed to do both. I believe if you lobby just for Flightline now as a stand alone item - you will not be successful. Get it approved as part of a citizen’s committee report- and it gives you a huge boost in credibility. The report should be heard on March 13th. The council has no obligation to implement projects in the priority order- but they would not look very responsible to ignore the committee they apopointed to work on this for a year. Lobby for them to accept the report- then you can pitch all of the reasons why this item is ready to move forward right away.
Also i don’t know if you have taken care of the other two hurdles with Flightline- CNLM and the County. All parties will need to agree so getting the city on board does not yet get you the trail- you need to be working on all three.
