Carlsbad City Council -Open Space Committee Recommendations

Although Carlsbad Oaks North, the area we know as FlightLine, has been mostly graded to make way for commericial development, there is still a lot to fight for. We have discussed joining the fight to preserve open space for mountain biking throughout San Diego and to join another great cause that may include FlightLine in their agenda. Flightline could be used as connector trails, or as they put it, “trail linkages” to other areas that have already been put on the drawing board as land we will be allowed to mountain bike on.
From the Preserve Calavera Website:

After over a year of hard work, the citizen’s Open Space Committee has identified hundreds of acres of open space and several new trail linkages. Now it will be up to the City Council- to put the report on the shelf and ignore it- or to move forward with a plan that will really enhance our natural lands and preserve quality of life for the plants, animals- and people of this area. Please attend the meeting and show your support for more open space and trails. Meeting starts at 6 pm at Carlsbad City Hall- Council Chambers - just east of I-5 on Carlsbad Village Dr.
