Chopping Live Plants
The city of Carlsbad is destroying the environment to save it?
I didn’t realize that it was okay for the city to contract someone to come in and completely cover the trail by chopping live plants and throwing it on the trail. If I get back out there I will take pictures but this is exactly the opposite of what they preach. You would be amazed at how many live plants they hacked just so they could place it on the trail as a barricade. I’m not talking about a little here and a little there, I mean they basically covered 50% of the trail from end to end by sawing down large branches of “native” plants and tossing them on the trail. If I get back out there soon I’ll take lots of pictures, not that it will do any good more than feed my irritation with bureaucracy, but I thin it would be good to document what they are doing with the 20K. That stuff won’t stay green for long so it would be good to get pics ASAP.
They also placed sandbags all over the place, even up towards the top of the first mesa.
